A 73-year-old man has been arrested over the shooting of Noel Ciantar.

The man was arrested on Saturday evening and is being interrogated at the police headquarters. He is expected to be charged later on today. 

The incident happened on Friday 19th August at 12.15pm. Ciantar, who is 49-years-old, is now in stable condition. 

Ciantar is the owner of a medieval settlement in Simblija which has been at the centre of certain disputes. 

Magistrate Nadine Lia is leading an inquiry into the case, and police investigations are ongoing.
