82-Year-Old Man With ‘Chronic’ Issues Is Malta’s 51st COVID-19 Death

A 82-year-old man has passed away from COVID-19, the Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement today.

The man, who was taken to Mater Dei on the 30th September, was being treated in hospital and had repeatedly tested negative for the virus. However, he developed symptoms related to COVID-19, and after he died, he was tested again, and found to be COVID-19 positive.

The ministry noted the man suffered from another chronic disease.

Authorities expressed their condolences to the family, while reminding everyone to follow social distancing and health guidelines.
