96-Year-Old Woman Becomes Malta’s Fourth COVID-19 Death

A 96-year-old woman has become Malta’s fourth COVID-19 patient to die, the Health Ministry has a confirmed.

In a statement, the Ministry said the elderly woman was suffering from other health problems and had tested positive for COVID-19 after entering Mater Dei on 16th April. She died overnight.

“We offer our condolences to the elderly woman’s relatives and once again urge everyone to follow the Health Department’s advice, so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society,” the Ministry said.

Malta has so far confirmed 447 COVID-19 cases, out of which 223 have recovered and four have died, meaning there are currently 220 active cases.
