“Culture plays a fundamental role in shaping a country’s identity and is often seen as the soul of a society. As each generation contributes to its own experiences and perspectives the cultural fabric becomes more intricate and layered,” Arts Minister Owen Bonnici said on the programme’s launch.

This season, the programme is thoughtfully designed to cater to every generation, ensuring that from seasoned senior citizens to vibrant young adults, everyone finds a place at the creative table.

For children, there are enchanting shows and engaging activities under the umbrella of the ŻiguŻajg Season.

Furthermore, through their Artists-in-Residency strand, international artists will collaborate with local communities around Malta and Gozo, creating bridges of cultural connection that resonate far and wide.

Unlike other cinemas that prioritise mainstream blockbusters, Spazju Kreattiv’s arthouse cinema offers a diverse selection of films that span genres, periods, and cultures.

From independent productions to thought-provoking foreign films, it provides moviegoers with an opportunity to embark on a cinematic journey of discovery and enrichment.

Other than this, the coexistence of visual and performance art within the programme not only enriches the artistic landscape but also encourages a holistic understanding of art’s role in shaping culture, sparking creativity and promoting social change.

Together, they create a dynamic and multidimensional artistic vision that resonates with diverse audiences and addresses the complexities of contemporary society.

The Chairman of Fondazzjoni Kreattività, Rupert Cefai, highlighted the importance and dedication to providing opportunities and steadfast support.

“As we enter this new chapter, we remain dedicated to providing opportunities and support to those who will continue to give shape and strengthen Malta’s creative sector in the following year,” Cefai commented.

Now in his fourth season as Artistic Director, Daniel Azzopardi explained how Spazju Kreattiv continues to be a key purveyor of inclusive debates and compelling creative and social differences.

He added that “this new programme reflects our evolving strategy for the future, with an enhanced commitment to events’ curation that promotes quality and offers collaborators’ opportunities to strengthen their skills within a professional and stimulating environment.”
