‘A Personal Best’: PL MEP Candidate Completes 42km La Valette Marathon
PL MEP candidate Claudette Abela Baldacchino put her running shoes on to complete the La Valette marathon last weekend.
The full marathon covers a distance of 42.2 kilometres, starting from St Paul’s Bay, taking runners along the stunning Maltese coastline and culminating at the historic Fort St Angelo in Birgu.
Abela Baldacchino, 51, completed the entire marathon in just over four hours and 40 minutes, which she said was a personal best for her.
Even more impressively, the candidate had taken part in The Grid obstacle course with her two children only a day earlier.
A record total of 2,068 runners took part in the La Valette marathon, with Danish runner Thijs Mathisen Nijhuis emerging victorious after completing the race in two hours, 25 minutes and 11 seconds.
