A Serbian woman was charged in court with attacking her ex-boyfriend in Sliema with a corkscrew and a glass kettle after he proposed a threesome with her and another woman.

Sofia Goergantas was charged this afternoon with a number of charges, including inflicting slight bodily harm on her ex, attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm on him and threatening him and the other woman.

“My client was lured into this Sliema apartment by her boyfriend. He called her, but when she went there her ex-partner wanted to have sex with her and another woman who was also present,” the woman’s lawyer Jason Grima said. “He wanted a threesome. My client refused.”

Grima said his client, not her ex-boyfriend, is the victim.

“She had wanted to leave the apartment but he didn’t let her go,” he said, therefore stating that her actions were carried out in self-defence.

The request for bail was accepted, however, the woman was given a restraining order, and asked to pay a total of €3,000, with an additional deposit of €1,000.

If the order is disobeyed or the money is not paid, Goergantas will be incarcerated.
