‘A Void That Can Never Be Filled’: Mario Rizzo Naudi’s Son Posts Heartfelt Tribute To Beloved Doctor And Politician

Tributes have poured in following the death of doctor and politician Mario Rizzo Naudi, who passed away aged 70.
“With the heaviest of hearts we regrettably have to announce the passing of our beloved father, Mario Rizzo Naudi earlier this morning,” his son Karl announced on social media today.
“We will miss you terribly. I will miss you terribly. You grandkids will miss you immensely. You have left a void that can never be filled. Until we meet again in a better place. Love you Pa.”
Mario’s peers and those who respected the man also shared their tributes today, with Opposition Leader Bernard Grech describing him as a “genuine man and friend who gave his all as a doctor and politician”.
“Last time I spoke to him was during the Marathon two weeks back. He told me ‘I’m here to do my part’ and gave me that unique smile of his, hugged me and said ‘kuraġġ’.”
“We lost a good man.”
“Thank you for everything you did with me and my family. We lost an honest, humble and kind man. Rest in peace Dr Mario.”
Rizzo Naudi was born in Msida in 1952, and leaves behind two children, Karl and Julian. He studied in Hungary before graduating as a doctor.
He was elected in 1994 as an independent councillor in Għaxaq, and was reelected in 1997. He also contested general elections with the National Party.
