‘A Wonderful Man’: Luke Dalli Shares Recent Exchange With Karl Gouder
Former ONE TV host Luke Dalli has described the late Karl Gouder as a “wonderful man” as he published messages they exchanged last week.
On 4th September, the day Dalli announced he was stepping down as host of the debate show Awla due to personal reasons, Gouder dropped him a message.
“If you need something, speak to me. Door is always open,” Gouder told him.
Dalli responded that he appreciated Gouder reaching out to him and the conversation ended with the two men, from different sides of the political divide, greeting each other.
“Today we are greeting you because you left us,” Dalli said. “Sometimes I ask myself why the best people die before others. Karl was a loyal politician, a sincere friend, and above all a wonderful person. It shouldn’t have ended like this, he had a lot more to offer.”
Transport Malta CEO and former OPM communications chief Kurt Farrugia described Gouder as a “ray of light” in politics.
“Principled, opinionated, strong, but always respectful and honest,” Farrugia said.
“We battled, debated and had open conversations about politics, since our time at university and later in communications, as colleagues, but on the other side of the spectrum. I always felt a connection which transcended politics. Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel.”
“I weep your loss! Now rest, my friend.
