Adrian Delia Flags Derelict State Of St Luke’s Hospital And Urges Police Investigation

Six days after winning a landmark court case over the Vitals-Steward hospital contract, PN MP Adrian Delia has demanded some kind of follow-up from the authorities.
“Who is the police commissioner investigating? Who is the Prime Minister searching for to ensure the €300 million is returned? We are waiting and we won’t stop pressuring.”
He posted photos showing the derelict state of wards at St Luke’s Hospital, one of three hospitals that were meant to be upgraded as part of the contract.

Extensive footage published by NET the week shines a spotlight on the sad state of St Luke’s, with corridors, rooms and entire hallways in complete disarray and everything from mattresses to chairs just left lying around.
Last week, Delia won a five-year court case against Steward Healthcare, who had been entrusted with maintaining and upgrading St Luke’s Hospital, along with the Karin Grech and Gozo General Hospitals, after obtaining the original concession from Vitals Global Healthcare.
The ruling ended up with the company having its contract – which was mired in controversy and even deemed fraudulent – annulled.
Are you surprised to see St Luke’s Hospital in this state?
