Adrian Delia Pays Emotional Tribute To Loyal Aide Godric Marston After Sudden Death
Adrian Delia has paid tribute to Godric Marston, an aide who had been by his side ever since he entered politics, after he suddenly passed away this weekend following health issues.
“Politics is full of challenges, sacrifices and seemingly never-ending climbs, of long hours, disputes, threats and tangled situations,” Delia began in a poetic post.
“But when you have someone by your side who is always there for you, who will wait for you for as long as it takes, who will wake up before you do so that you find him ready.”
“Someone ready to look after you come rain or shine, with no words or perhaps just a few, and no questions asked.”
“Then you understand that some small corners of shelter exist and in them you can find the comfort of a courageous wall.”
“When you live through and are rewarded with absolute loyalty, you realise that no greater privilege exists. But then lightning cuts through skies and is followed by thunder, you look around you and no longer see this shadow of comfort anymore, because he has suddenly gone.”
“Your mind can barely comprehend it, it has burst open and feels like it it is in a vice-like grip – it is like the days of emptiness.
“This person lived only to take care of you and you can no longer even look at him because he has gone away.”
Several PN activists paid tribute to Marston, including leader Bernard Grech, who praised him for his “absolute loyalty”.
