‘A Gentle Giant Of A Man Has Left Us’: Adrian Delia Issues Heartfelt Tribute To PN’s Robert Arrigo
Former PN Leader Adrian Delia has issued a heartfelt tribute to Robert Arrigo, who died earlier today at the age of 67.
Delia expressed his sorrow in a tribute that he penned and shared on social media, referring to Arrigo as “a gentle giant of a man”.
“I don’t have words to speak, I don’t have enough strength to shout,” Delia wrote. “A gentle giant of a man has left us.”
“A charismatic benefactor who couldn’t live a minute of his blessed life without helping those in need is with us no more,” Delia expressed.
“The world is a poorer place, the heavens now enriched. A gentleman always, a doting husband, an inspiring father, a one-of-a-kind politician for the people.”
“To me always true and loyal, Robert, my friend I will forever remember you dearly,” he stated.
Arrigo had been undergoing several sessions of chemotherapy recently as he battled cancer, with politicians from all sides of the political spectrum offering their support to him during the difficult time.
The former Deputy Leader of the Nationalist Party spent almost five years in his position.
Tributes are flooding in for Arrigo, with Alan Abela-Wadge also describing him as “a friend, a mentor, and someone I looked up to”.
“Sadly we lost him all too early. Whilst we lost a great man that we all looked up to, his family lost a husband and a father,” Abela-Wadge said.
