A Maltese woman was taken aback after finding her once peaceful field heavily vandalised with rubble scattered all over.

Yesterday at 5pm, Catherine (Surname withheld for the protection of the individual and her family) found rubble walls scattered all around the field, two storage rooms completely demolished and the lock to her outside gate broken.

A construction vehicle seemingly had entered the area since tire marks can be visibly seen all over the field, according to the Maltese woman.

Catherine expressed to Lovin Malta how she and her husband have been threatened earlier last year via a phone call – adding that they are absolutely terrified for their safety.

“We were threatened before and abused. I was punched as well.”

The police were called and arrived at the field to investigate.

“The inspector spoke to me and advised me that it will not be easy to find the perpetrators as unfortunately, I do not have any cameras installed in the field.”

The field, which is located in Ħal-Far, was a ‘family treasure’ as it was a place for Catherine and her husband to find solace from their hectic everyday life. She also explains how the field meant a lot to her husband who suffers from mental health problems

“It means a lot to me as my husband is mentally ill and his relaxing time is here,” she told Lovin Malta.

Catherine’s family is publicly asking anyone that has either seen the perpetrator breaking in or has CCTV footage in the vicinity of the field to come forward and contact the police.
