After Prank Dead Person Call In St Julian’s Wastes Emergency Resources, Minister Calls For Police Action

Police and emergency response forces rushed to a hotel in St Julian’s today following a report that someone had been found dead.

However, it soon became apparent that the call had been a fake call, causing a false alarm.

Home Affairs Minister has called on the police to investigate this “irresponsible act” and issued a statement reiterating how emergency services shouldn’t be taken so lightly.

“I would like to emphasise that this is not a joke, and the emergency number should only be used for genuine emergencies,” Camilleri said.

While Malta has a history of prank calls, wasting essential emergency resources and taking ambulances away from where they might really make a difference is a terrible idea and shouldn’t be toyed with.
