After Yesterday’s Storm, Here’s What This Week’s Weather Has In Store For Malta

Cowering from thunder and lightning was how many Maltese people ended up spending their Sunday, and even though this might not be normal summer weather, many welcomed the change from the all-too familiar sun and heat. However, if this week’s weather forecast has anything to offer, it’s more of those good old, quasi-suffocating temperatures.
It looks like the rest of the day will be the weather’s period of adjustment, with showers and even thunderstorms potentially returning to the islands. As far as temperatures go, those will start going up again, hitting highs of 31°C. But as the wind continues to blow from a southeasterly direction, it’s going to feel more like 39°C for the rest of the day.
It will actually feel like 39°C for the rest of the week.
Yep; for the entirety of this week, we will only be one degree off from the frightful 40s.
Even with all this heat, however, the sun will not be present all the time.
Indeed, Tuesday and Wednesday will be cloudy, with only Thursday seeing a mainly sunny day.
This will not stop the UV Index from climbing all the way up to 9 though, or indeed the evenings’ lows from never dropping below 24°C.
By the time the weekend returns, it looks like it’s all back to square one.
As Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all set to be very sunny days, the temperatures will climb back up, reaching highs of 34°C which will yet again feel like 39°C (at least).
The wind will continue to hover around very low forces of 2s and 3s, and with the direction being variable, we’ll have to wait and see what surprises Santa Marija week has in store for us.
