‘Can Barely Believe It’: Malta Shocked By AG Prosecutor’s Sudden Death As Tributes Pour In
43-year-old Muscat was found dead earlier today by his own relatives in his home along Triq is-Sirk in Swieqi.
“I’m still trying to get to terms with the news as can barely believe it. Just shocked,” PN’s Adrian Delia told Lovin Malta.
“My thoughts right now are with his family and can only appeal to genuine prayers at this testing time.”
The Nationalist Party also released an official statement a few moments ago, offering their condolences toward Muscat’s family, also giving recognition to his previous work as a PN councillor in Rabat.
PN Leader Bernard Grech also personally brought his condolences forward, describing Muscat as a “kind and prudent” man.
“I fondly remember the discussions we used to have about legal work and even politics, where he spoke to me nostalgically about his father, the former Nationalist Deputy Pierre Muscat,” he said.
“On behalf of the Nationalist Party, I express my condolences to the Muscat family for this loss.
Justice Minister Jonathan Attard extended his condolences and expressed his shock at the news, reminding the public to respect the family during this difficult time amid ongoing investigations.
Gżira Mayor Conrad Borg Manche also offered tribute to Muscat, expressing his shock at the “terrible news”, and extended his heartfelt condolences to the family.
“We were together during the law course and I can say that he was a man of integrity,” he said, attaching a smiling photo of Muscat. “This is how I want to remember you.”
PN MP Graham Bencini also expressed his shock, adding that it was only a few weeks ago when he last spoke with Muscat.
“Beyond shocked at the news of the death of Karl Muscat whom I spoke to last just a few weeks ago. Sincere condolences to all his family. Rest in peace Karl. You left us way too soon,” Bencini wrote.
Among the cases he was working on Muscat was handling the case involving Ryan Schembri, the owner of the now defunct More Supermarkets.
