Large cracks in the cliffs near St Peter’s Pool in Delimara has led to a public call for authorities to step in before someone gets hurt.

“Everyone who likes to visit Delimara, especially St Peter’s pool area, be aware of the danger under the cliffs, it is very dangerous,” entrepreneur Andreas Gerdes said, sharing images of the surrounding area.

The area is known as a picturesque grotto popular with both tourists and locals.

“The authorities should visit this area and come up with a plan to avoid a disaster, a lot of tourists visit this area and if it rains they go under the said cliffs for shelter,” he continued.

Saying the Civil Protection Department had visited the area and that a cordon had appeared to keep the general public away from the risky zone, he still urged for something to be done before tragedy struck.
