Local singer and songwriter Alexandra Alden has penned the demo of a new song in the wake of Bernice Cassar’s horrifying murder.

The song, love was a monster, was announced today, just the day after Cassar was killed at the hands of her husband.

Alden stated that the recent song, which was written in just an hour, was created, “in light of the recent news of yet another femicide in Malta”.

She plans to release this demo against a donation of just €1, but is also providing the option for listeners to donate even more, should they wish to do so.

Alden has also pledged to donate all the proceeds from her song to the Women’s Rights Foundation, a local organisation that is primarily focused on ensuring women’s rights.
