ISPORT is the new project helping blind and visually impaired children and young people develop their sports skills.

Paralympic Malta and The Malta Trust Foundation are the two organisations behind this dynamic initiative which is aimed at developing parasport for blind and visually impaired persons across an array of sporting disciplines.

Among them there is athletics, judo, indoor rowing, futsal and swimming. All of which the blind and visually impaired individuals got to try out with the encouragement and guidance of the volunteer coaches, the national paralympic committee and representatives of Malta Trust.

Paralympic Malta has posted a cluster of endearing and inspiring Instagram stories showing the progress of the young athletes.

“I have total admiration for these para athletes as well as all the people behind this project. What you are doing is incredible,” PN candidate Graham Bencini said.

“The project between the Malta Paralympic Committee and The Malta Trust Foundation is the biggest empowerment tool,” said Inclusion Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli.

“Coaches from different voluntary associations will be giving the necessary training for these people to open doors with new opportunities in sports.”
