Earlier this week, a group of St Gorg Preca Middle School students showed up to the Disneyland, Fairyland and Wonderland Wards in Mater Dei and handed out a number of puzzles and board games to the children residing there, much to the surprise of them kids and their parents.
‘A Ray Of Sunshine’ is a project that began in early May when students and teachers alike began collecting money through specific tasks given out to all the students, that included setting up posters, collecting and counting the money from donators and decorating each gift purchased with a little inspirational quote.
The students visited the wards on Thursday 6th June during school hours and met with the staff at the Fairyland ward
They also were taken around the wards, which further allowed the to students understand who exactly they were helping out.
In a statement sent to Lovin Malta, the school’s assistant head Charmaine Seguna expressed her gratitude towards all the hard work done saying that the students “gave their full commitment and we as a school are very proud of them” and we couldn’t agree more!
The gifts were distributed to all the wards and we’re sure the effort that the kids from St Gorg Preca Middle School and A Ray of Sunshine made helped to brighten up their day!
The students are already excited to work on a similar project again next scholastic year. We definitely need more young ones like this around.
