‘An Idiot Criminal’: Bidnija Murder Victim’s Wife On Tragic Shooting
Mirjam Busuttil Hoogevliet penned an emotional tribute to her husband who was brutally murdered after a minor traffic collision in Bidnija.
“My best friend, the love of my life!! The father of our precious daughter!! How did such an idiot criminal take all of it away in just seconds? I will love you forever Jean xxx,” Mirjam wrote on social media.
Jean Paul Busuttil was killed on Sunday morning after a minor collision led to a fatal shooting.
Mohamed Hamdan, the suspected killer, was arrested and charged for the murder however he has since pleaded not guilty.
Inspector Kurt Colombo Zahra told the court that Hamdan was driving the wrong way down a one-way road in Bidnija on Sunday morning when he was involved in a collision with Busuttil.
An argument arose between the two men in the presence of a LESA official, after which the accused left the scene on his son’s motorbike and returned a few minutes later with a gun that he used to shoot Busuttil.
