Animal Graffiti Mysteriously Appears On Malta’s Historic Sites: Activism Or Vandalism

Article Featured Image

Malta woke up to a bizarre surprise this morning – large animal-themed graffiti sprayed across some of the island’s most iconic historical sites, leaving the nation somewhere between shocked, furious, and… slightly confused.

From the silent walls of Mdina to the grand fortifications of Cospicua and even the majestic Citadel in Gozo, the mystery tags have popped up overnight, sparking chaos both on the ground and online.

Photos of the graffiti are already flooding social media, with fiery debates kicking off in the comments. While some are calling it a bold artistic statement, the majority are slamming the move as an outright act of vandalism – and a disrespectful one at that.

So, who’s behind it?

Was this the work of a rogue activist with an animal rights agenda? A rebellious street artist pushing boundaries? Or just someone out to stir the pot?

As of now, no one has come forward, and authorities have yet to make a statement – but one thing’s for sure: Malta’s not having it.
