Another Nadur Road Is At Risk Of Collapsing After Sinkholes Appear On Its Surface

Another road in Nadur has been closed off following reports of potholes and cracks on the tarmac.

Earlier this week, photos surfaced on the Facebook group ‘It-Toroq f’Ghawdex’ highlighting the current state of Triq Ta’ Kenuna, which appears on the “verge of collapsing anytime soon” and which could have severe consequences for vehicles driving past.

Concerns surrounding this discovery come in light of another incident only a few weeks ago, where another road in the area had to be closed off temporarily after a gaping pothole was discovered by a passerby.

In a Facebook post, members of the community urged the government to intervene ASAP before someone gets hurt.

Nadur mayor Edward Said took to Facebook moments ago to inform the public that the road has now been closed and that the Ministry for Gozo will be carrying out emergency works on Kenuna Street in the coming weeks.

This isn’t the only road to have been closed off in Nadur this week. Triq il-Madonna ta’ Fatima also had to be closed off after part of the road collapsed due to the heavy rain and gale-force winds that struck Malta over the past few days.

It seems that Nadur is plagued with bad roads and the extent of this has come to the fore over the past few weeks.
