Archbishop Scicluna Cancels Sunday Engagements After ‘Freak Accident’ Leads To Head Injury

Archbishop Charles Scicluna has withdrawn from all scheduled engagements following a “freak accident” on Saturday night that left him with a minor head injury.
The Archbishop, who was set to lead the Remembrance Day mass, expressed his regret over the cancellation in a statement released by the Curia on Sunday morning.

In a message posted on X, Archbishop Scicluna shared his disappointment at missing the Remembrance Sunday mass and other commitments, explaining, “I deeply regret that I cannot honour my commitments today 10/11 for Remembrance Sunday & other events after a freak accident last night during which I suffered a minor head injury.”
He went on to thank the medical staff at St James Hospital who provided him with care and advised him to rest.
The Archbishop has not yet provided details on when he’ll resume his duties.
