Armed Robber Flees Sliema Jewellery Store After Staff’s Quick Reaction

A would-be thief’s attempt to rob a Sliema jewellry store was foiled by one worker’s quick thinking.

Police were informed that an attempted robbery had occurred at around 6.30pm last night in Tower Road, Sliema.

From initial investigations, a man carrying a knife and wearing items that hid his face entered the store – however, police said a worker noticed him immediately and contacted police.

When the thief saw this, he fled the scene without taking anything.

The two workers inside the store were uninjured in the attempt.

Magistrate Natasha Galea has appointed various experts to assist her inquiry. Police investigations are underway.
