Arsonist On Bicycle Spotted Setting Qormi Field On Fire On CCTV, Owner Says
CCTV images doing the rounds on a social media post allegedly show a man on a bicycle setting fire to a field in Qormi – with the field’s owner appealing for help to find out what happened exactly.
Police confirmed with Lovin Malta that they are investigating a suspected case of arson in Qormi.
In the post, Neil Saliba claims there was already an unsuccessful attempt to burn his field on Saturday, but the perpetrator returned and destroyed everything.
“I want to send a message to this good man who passed by on Saturday and tried to set fire to my field unsuccessfully.”
“The person returned and made sure to burn everything, and I don’t even know why anyone would do something like that. A police report has been made.”
“Please share because this is not the first time this has happened in the Qormi area. If someone knows anything, please send me a private message, or they can go to the police station in Qormi,” he appealed to the public.
Police told Lovin Malta that “a report was received at the Qormi Police station regarding a suspected arson in a field in the area known as ‘Tal-Ħlas’ in Qormi, during which hay and several wood pallets were destroyed.”
The police did not confirm or deny that other fields in Qormi were also subject to arsonist attacks, however the original poster claimed that its not the first time it happened in the area.
