Barely Anyone Showed Up For Ministry-Backed Doghunt For Missing Max In Siġġiewi
This morning’s national search launched by the Ministry for Animal Rights and endorsed by Animal Welfare to find a partially-blind Leukemia survivor’s guide dog had an abysmal turn-out, with barely anyone showing up.
A whole half hour into the scheduled search, the Ta’ Kandja meeting point only had one lone man waiting for anything to happen, before he gave up.
“I came to help, but everyone needs to work, and I can’t wait here forever if no one’s showing up,” the man told Lovin Malta before driving off.
Some family members are believed to have showed up at one point, but after they found no one, they too left.
Nearly one hour later, four men were spotted walking by the side of the road, peering over some of the nearby fields’ rubble walls.

But while it’s yet to be confirmed whether they formed part of the scheduled search or happened to be walking past, this morning’s turn-out was undeniably less-than-desirable.
Max the guide dog has been missing since 7th September, triggering a landslide of emotions, reactions and online pleas in the last couple of weeks. However, even with this morning’s search garnering hundreds of shares and comments, it doesn’t look like anyone was ready to take the extra step of actually showing up to the search.
