Watch: Bethlehem Bomb – San Ġwann Christmas Crib Depicts Israeli Missiles, Roberta Metsola, And A Palestinian Flag
A crib in San Ġwann is sharing a sobering message this Christmas. It stands in solidarity with Gaza reminding everyone that Bethlehem, Jesus’ birthplace, is a Palestinian town.
Instead of stars, the display features a sky filled with Israeli missiles that have so far been responsible for more than 20,000 deaths in Gaza, including around 8,000 children, since the Hamas terrorist attack on 7th October, marking the most recent escalation of the conflict.
Within the crib, images of European Parliament President Roberta Metsola as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, can be seen creeping out behind the wooden crate that is acting as the backdrop of the scene.
This showcases the frustration that many Maltese and European citizens have been harbouring against these two figureheads who tip-toe carefully around condemning Israel’s genocidal actions and calling for a long-term ceasefire.
Mary, Jesus, and Joseph can also be seen in this display. However, Joseph can be seen holding up a Palestinian flag – a strong show of solidarity with the targeted people.
The crib is located near the San Ġwann church.
