‘Beyond Ignorant’: Mother Accuses Lija Fuel Station Staff of Refusing To Help Flat Battery Car With 2-Month-Old Baby Inside

Picture this: you’re out and about getting your list ticked off and suddenly the reserve light flashes on your dashboard. You stop, fill the old girl up, only to realise that, while doing so, your battery has run flat in your car. Your 2-month-old is in the back, you’ve grabbed your jump leads from the boot and approach the station staff asking if they can help. They refuse.

Posting in a popular Facebook group, a mother (who we will keep anonymous) lamented of her struggle to jump the car battery as station staff rebuked their plea.

The parents had their own jump leads in their car, but in the heat of the day and with their baby in the back, they wanted to get back on the move as fast as possible.

Writing on the post, the couple was refused their request for help for not having bought anything from the station, despite having just paid €20 for fuel.

“I honestly cannot believe how disgusting their attitudes were. My poor bay was burning in the car and even though they were fully aware, they still refused to help.”

The couple then had to wait for the next customer to pass through the station to ask them for help instead, with the staff watching on as the parents had to be patient.

Closing off her post, the mother went to on say that she was “absolutely horrified” with how they were treated.

What do you think? Should the staff have offered a hand?
