Birkirkara Hit-And-Run Victim Identified As 42-Year-Old Khim Bahadur Pun

The motorcyclist killed in today’s tragic hit-and-run in Birkirkara has been named as 42-year-old Khim Bahadur Pun, a father of two young children from Nepal.
Pun had been living in Malta for over three years, working as a food courier to support his family. He is the 18th person to die on Malta’s roads this year.
Police reported Pun died after a Maserati Levante crashed into his Kymco motorbike in Triq Salvu Psaila early Sunday morning.
The Maserati then hit three parked vehicles before the people inside fled on foot. The alleged driver, a 17-year-old boy, and the two other passengers have been arrested.
In a Facebook post, the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) said it was shocked by the news. The organisation’s president, Rems Khanal, confirmed they are organising a fundraiser to help repatriate Pun’s body to Nepal.
Pun is the second Nepalese food delivery driver to lose his life in Malta in recent years.
This latest tragedy follows a deadly July in which six people lost their lives in car accidents with the deadliest week on Malta’s roads in at least 25 years occurring between 23rd and 29th July.
Lovin Malta extends its condolences to Khim’s family and loved ones.
