A 63-year-old man from Birkirkara has been left fighting for his life following a serious traffic accident in Triq Burmarrad, Mosta this morning.

Police said the man was driving a Toyota Vitz when he was involved in a crash with a Honda Accord that was being driven by a 28-year-old Nigerian national who lives in St Paul’s Bay.

The Vitz caught fire upon impact and CPD officials and medics had to be called in.

The 63-year-old has been hospitalised with serious injuries while the 28-year-old escaped unscathed.
