A 41-year-old man from Birkirkara has been injured after falling from scaffolding he was working on in Gżira.

The man was undertaking works at Christ the Redeemer Church in Gżira when, for an unknown reason, the scaffolding tipped over, causing the man to fall two and a half storeys to the ground, police have said.

The incident happened at around 6pm in Triq San Albert, Gżira, last night.

The man was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed to have grievous injuries. Police investigations are ongoing.
