A newly renovated public primary school in Birkirkara will be named after Adrian Borg, a 14-year-old student who tragically died when a goalpost toppled onto his head during a PE lesson in 2003.

Education Minister Clifton Grima revealed this in Parliament  when responding to questions by PN MP Justin Schemer about the renovation of the former Vincenzo Bugeja School.

He said he still remembers Borg’s tragic death as if it were yesterday and that renaming a school in his memory “gives a sense of justice”.

The renovation of Adrian Borg Primary School is expected to cost €2 million, with upgrades including the construction of new classrooms and a hall, the installation of double-glazed windows, and ensuring full accessibility.
