Bis-Serjeta, Jew? Malta’s Food Ranked 86th Out Of 95 In Latest World Best Cuisine Awards

Somehow, Malta’s cuisine was ranked in 86th place out of a total of 95 in the TasteAtlas awards for the world’s best cuisine.
According to the food guide website, the island’s best-rated foods were the ġbejna, pastizzi, imqaret, imqarrun il-forn, bebbux, prinjolata, fenkata, and hobż iż-żejt respectively.
Meanwhile, the imbuljuta tal-qastan placed first for Malta’s best drinks, with the ruġġata and the ġulepp tal-ħarub placing second and third respectively.
And Rabat’s Crystal Palace (Serkin) also got an honourable mention in the list of best local restaurants to try.

Meanwhile, Italy’s cuisine placed first, mentioning their Parmigiano Reggiano, nduja, and pesto Genovese, with Greece’s cuisine coming in second place.
Following the big two came Spain’s cuisine in third place, Japanese cuisine in fourth place, and Indian cuisine in fifth place.
While it’s commendable that Malta made the list, it’s quite disappointing to see that Malta’s cuisine failed to impress the food guide in these awards.
Do you think Malta’s cuisine deserves better recognition?
