An abandoned field in a plot of land between two blocks of apartments caught on fire last night as firefighters and members of the Civil Protection Department fought to put out the flames.

Footage from the fire in Triq ix-Xatt, Sliema, shows officers entering the zone to battle the blaze. 

Smoke could be seen emerging from the area, which was filled with trash and junk like wood pallets and other combustible items.

No one was injured in the fire.
