40 Degrees And Over: Blistering Heat Back With A Vengeance For Next 24 Hours In Malta

Article Featured Image

We’ve got some bad news if you’re not a fan of the heat – today could very well end up being one of summer 2022’s hottest days.

A Yellow Warning has been issued ahead of today’s highs, which will climb all the way up to 36°C but feel even hotter than 40°C, due to the high humidity.

Yesterday, Malta’s humidity levels even exceeded 90%, with Msida’s humidity today at 87% while Dingli is only at a low 33%.

A particularly humid day and practically negligible wind will in fact be pushing the Heat Stress Index way up, with some local forecasters even predicting apparent highs of around 45°C.

Evenings aren’t looking too fresh either, with tonight’s temperatures forecasted to feel around 30°C.

Meanwhile, it thankfully looks like the wind is bringing fresher weather with it thanks to very strong winds that could push the highest temperature down by nearly 10°C… but do stay safe until that happens!
