Almost a month since BNF Bank rolled out a major tech update, which included switching from VISA to MasterCard, people are still facing serious difficulties with their accounts.

On 2nd April, the bank admitted that there were technical challenges with the rollout and that it is determined to address the issues as quickly as possible.

However, with issues now dragging on for almost a month, frustration is growing and some people are asking the authorities to step in.

Some people have been locked out of their accounts, while others have reported even more serious problems, such as vanishing funds and double transactions.

There have also been several complaints at the lack of customer care, with several emails and phone calls going unanswered.

“It’s chaos not being able to monitor your money. It’s a disaster and disgrace,” one person commented on social media.

“I have sent so many emails with no solution. They were better off with the old system.”

“A few days would have been understandable but this is too much now. Unfortunately we have a home loan with them,” another person said.

Lovin Malta has asked BNF for a timeline on when these issues will be resolved and whether it intends to boost its customer care resources to deal with the complaints.
