Bomb Squad Stops Bus Heading Towards Malta Airport After Reports Of Suspicious Package Onboard
A bus carrying a suspicious package was stopped by police earlier today in Santa Lucija.
According to police, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Rapid Intervention Unit stopped the bus as it made its way to the airport.
A representative from Malta Public Transport was unable to confirm any of the details but stated that they are currently investigating the situation.
MaltaToday has linked the stop to a ‘suspected bomb threat’ noting that all passengers were evacuated from the vehicle.
Sources close to the scene confirmed that the bus was later released by the police.
Investigations are ongoing.
