A two-year-old boy is at the centre of an abduction case in Malta involving two parents fighting for custody of the young child.

Police have confirmed that it is investigating claims by the boy’s father, Nicholas Levenstein, that his son was abducted from Malta by his mother, Anna Lydinovska.

Levenstein has claimed that his son was abducted on Sunday 7th August in Sliema and has published videos of an unidentified man holding him back as Lydinovska allegedly got away with his son.

A border lock has since been implemented but Levenstein is fearful that the pair may have already fled the country.

However, Lydinovska claims that it was Levenstein who abducted the boy in the first place.

In a social media post published on 1st August, Lydinovska claimed that Levenstein abducted the boy following a trip to Tallinn, Estonia.

She says that the boy lived in Russia before then and agreed to the Estonia visit as Levenstein, an American national, refused to visit Russia amid worsening tensions between the two countries.

She claimed that Estonian police did not collaborate and did not take her claim seriously.

Still, Levenstein insists on no wrongdoing and is launching an urgent appeal with authorities in Malta and across Europe to find his son.
