Brace Yourselves: It’s About To Get Even Hotter In Malta This Week

Article Featured Image

Last Saturday saw temperatures in Malta make it past the mid 30s, with the weekend quickly becoming one of the hottest of 2018 so far. ‘So far’ being the operative word.

This week’s weather forecast sees temperatures go past the sweat-inducing ones we’ve already been through, steadily approaching Holy Shit territory.

Save for a relatively “fresh” period of 31°C on Tuesday, this whole week will see temperatures gravitating around highs of 35°C. However, it’s where the apparent temperature is concerned that things start getting very hot, very quickly.

Today will feel like 39°C, and that’s only the beginning

The high apparent temperatures will persist all throughout the week, ranging from 34°C on Tuesday back up to 37°C on Thursday. Mostly mild winds (except a bout of Force 5 and 6 on Tuesday) and staggering UV indexes of 10 and 11 across the board will see this week quickly becoming the hottest of the year yet.

In fact, as it stands, the airport’s forecast page is showing a yellow weather warning for the upcoming day.

Even this week’s evenings don’t hold much respite, with the lowest temperatures registering just under 25°C.

The weekend promises a trinity of high temperatures

The blistering 38 and 39°C will make a return for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures at night only going down to 24°C and the UV Index sitting on 11 for some proper sunbathing time.

So here’s hoping you all know the drill by now; avoid the direct sunlight during the most intense moments of the day (that’s around 11am to 3pm), put on enough sunblock to help you get through this, and get planning your beach day!
