Breaking: Court Unsuccessful In Attempts To Notify Keith Schembri To Testify This Morning

Disgraced former Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Keith Schembri could not be notified to appear in court this morning, Lovin Malta is informed.
Schembri was called as a witness to testify in the Constitutional case filed by Daphne Caruana Galizia murder suspect Yorgen Fenech who is seeking to remove police inspector Keith Arnaud from the case over a potential conflict of interest.
Sources told Lovin Malta that the other witnesses for this morning’s case were all successfully notified yesterday. These include Arnaud himself, middleman Melvin Theuma and someone from Jobsplus.
However, court marshals did not manage to locate Schembri to formally give him his notice to appear in court.
Schembri, who lives in Santa Maria estate in Mellieha, has spent the last few weeks avoiding court appointments or refusing to testify, including in cases he triggered himself.
Lawyer Pawlu Lia renounced his brief on December 5th, after Schembri was named in the investigation into the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. A few days earlier, lawyer Andrew Sciberras had also dropped Schembri who he was representing in a separate libel suit.
