The arrests have been made following recommendations within the long-awaited Magisterial Inquiry – which was just concluded after repeated pressure from Prime Minister Robert Abela.
The arrests were made at around 8.30pm today, and include some key figures involved in overseeing the building project that led to Sofia’s death.
Lovin Malta is informed that they will be arraigned on Sunday; this newsroom has reached out to the Malta Police Force for further details.
Lawyer Jason Azzopardi took to social media this evening saying the “arrests have begun” and that authorities picked up an architect involved in the case. He praised the inquiring magistrate Marse-Ann Farrugia for the quality work she seems to have done.
