Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi has resigned while Economy Minister Chris Cardona has suspended himself, Lovin Malta can reveal.

“It was my duty,” Mizzi told the press following a cabinet meeting.

The move comes just hours after the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Keith Schembri also resigned.

The resignations come after reports that Yorgen Fenech, the main suspect in the Daphne Caruana Galizia assassination, was spilling the beans on the case and other corruption cases.

Meanwhile, Cardona and a few of his aides have been questioned by police in connection to the case.
