Prime Minister Robert Abela has asked Chris Fearne to reconsider his decision to resign as Deputy Prime Minister and retract his nomination as European Commissioner.

“For reasons I have already publicly expressed, where I stressed on your integrity and capabilities, I urge you to reconsider your decision,” Abela wrote in a letter to Feanre.

“In the country’s toughest moments, not only where you there for support but the nation greatly benefited from your abilities. This has also been recognised on an international level. I reiterate my full trust in you.”
