Bright Lights Decorate Replacement Mosta Pjazza Trees Meant For Birds To Rest On

In the latest of a series of bizarre decision regarding Mosta’s centre, replacement trees placed just near the Mosta Dome as a location for birds to rest on have now been completely covered in bright holiday lights.
And, needless to say, Maltese social media was having none of it.
“If I ever doubted whether the mayor of Mosta Local Council was a fool, I can now confirm that he is,” Birdlife CEO Mark Sultana said.
“The trees placed in Mosta’s pjazza (after the butchering of the Ficus trees) for birds to shelter in have been covered in light bulbs. Well done mayor, you really are a bright one yourself.”
Images from the scene show the lights thrown over the potted plants, placed in the pjazza after national pressure stopped the extreme pruning and relocation of 12 Ficus trees near the centre.
The new potted trees were placed there after many questioned where birds spotted in the area would go – but it seems any bird trying to get some rest in Mosta will have to find another tree anyway, at least until the festive season ends.
