A 54-year-old Englishman residing in Mellieħa was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital after a serious traffic accident in Dawret San Pawl in St Paul’s Bay, yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 5 pm when the man, who was riding a Honda motorcycle, lost control and collided with a skip on the road.

Emergency medical teams quickly arrived at the scene to assist the motorcyclist. He was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance, where he was certified to have sustained serious injuries.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia has been informed of the case and is leading an inquiry into the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the crash.
