Buġibba Gets New Ferry Landing Site With Route To Sliema And Gozo

A ferry landing and breakwater project was inaugurated in Buġibba yesterday.
The ferry landing site is designated for a sea transport route connecting Sliema, Buġibba, and Gozo, with a call for proposals set to be issued in this regard.
The breakwater is 180m long and is intended to reduce the impact of waves within the bay and provide enhanced protection for the mooring of fishing boats and small vessels.
Along with the main breakwater, a 36-metre-long secondary arm was built to provide enhanced shelter and safer mooring during adverse weather conditions.
A terminal has also been constructed, and is equipped with sheltered waiting areas and other facilities which serve the needs of passengers travelling by sea.
The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Abela, Transport Minister Chris Bonett, and EU Funds Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi.
