Burglary In Naxxar: Suspects Reportedly Caught, Witness Claims
A home in Naxxar was robbed earlier this morning with the burglars being caught as they were leaving the scene, a witness told Lovin Malta.
A door on Triq il-Buzjett was broken down by suspected thieves earlier this morning, with the police receiving a report of suspicious activity at 9.20am.
A spokesperson of the police told the newsroom that information is still being funneled through and they are unsure if the report was of an attempted robbery or a completed theft.
However, a neighbour to the residence told Lovin Malta that a theft occurred this morning after the home was broken into. According to this witness, the suspected burglars were caught by officials close to the home.
This comes as one of a string of robberies taking place across Malta with police patrols increasing in all localities as a result of rising reports. In fact, a police spokesperson previously confirmed that five reports of thefts were received between February 22 and 28 in Swieqi, Mosta, San Ġwann, Naxxar, and Mellieħa.
