A road rage incident in Mosta earlier this month led to the assault of a bus driver, Lovin Malta can confirm.
A Malta Public Transport spokesperson confirmed that, on 3rd June, a man got out of his vehicle, approached the bus and broke the window to assault the driver.
The assailant’s number plate was identified and he was promptly reported to the police.
This means that there have been at least two cases of assault on bus drivers this month alone. On Tuesday, a bus driver was attacked, spat on and bitten by a passenger in Rabat because he had refused to let him off the vehicle before the next bus stop.
Malta Public Transport said it is internally investigating and following up both cases.
“We take these cases very seriously and condemn all sorts of violence, whether it’s on our drivers or our passengers,” the spokesperson said.
