SiGMA Empowers Maltese Companies To Go Global
SiGMA Group is still developing new ways for Maltese talent and businesses to continue their growth beyond local shores. With the upcoming SiGMA Central Europe Summit taking place in Rome, Maltese enterprises come to the forefront of the company’s global presence.
Malta has long been the beating heart of SiGMA’s operations, serving as both home base and creative hub for many of its suppliers, exhibitors, and partners. The next edition of SiGMA will see a strong Maltese presence in the Italian capital, with several locally based companies, who are instrumental in SiGMA’s global expansion, contributing their expertise to bring the exhibition to life.
Maltese suppliers leading the way
Various Maltese firms will be key contributors to the SiGMA event in Rome.
GMC Transport, led by Mark Buttigieg, states, “It is a proud moment for our team to take Malta’s expertise to Rome.”
SignIt, whose director is Kevin Galea, states, “Our design and talent speak volumes about the quality and creativity that Maltese companies are known for.”
242, whose project manager is Miguel Spiteri, said, “Rome provides a firm platform to showcase that Maltese talent is thriving globally.”
Lastly, Casa Pinta, whose founder is Damian Casapinta, comments, “We are looking forward to contributing to an event that showcases Malta internationally.”
These Maltese suppliers, who are famous for their skill and professionalism, are key to providing the world-class visual and structural standards that are now synonymous with SiGMA’s global expos. Their work will help ensure that the Rome event maintains the same hallmark quality that the industry has come to associate with SiGMA’s flagship summit in Malta, instilling confidence in the audience about the event’s standards.
Creating global opportunities for Maltese companies
In addition to logistics and design, SiGMA’s global events serve as a vehicle for Maltese exhibitors, start-ups and professionals to discover emerging markets, forge new key networks, and reinforce Malta’s position in gaming and emerging technology. Our events provide a wealth of opportunities for both business growth and collaboration, all the while generating excitement in the crowd about the possibilities of these interactions.
Whether on the website as speakers, as members of the online audience, or as exhibitors, Maltese participants continue to publicise the unique imagination, flexibility and enterprise of the island. Each SiGMA summit is a chance for local talent to expand their reach, gain exposure to new markets, and represent the very best of Maltese enterprise abroad. These events provide a platform for Maltese companies to connect with global industry leaders, build strategic networks, and strengthen Malta’s position in the gaming and emerging tech sectors.
Supporting Maltese education and innovation
As part of SiGMA’s ongoing support for education and collaboration with local stakeholders, the company put together a contest for students in partnership with Filletti & Filletti Advocates and the University of Malta (UoM). The contest showcased the creativity of students as they wrote articles exploring the overlap of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gaming, and provoked thought regarding new trends and features in the field.
The student winner, Martina Galea, a law student at the University of Malta, wowed the judges with her article “Beyond the Algorithm: Regulating AI Accountability in the Gaming Industry”. As a result of winning the contest, Galea has the fantastic opportunity to sit on a panel at the SiGMA Rome summit, as well as leading her own Keynote, titled “Accountability by Design: Keeping Operators in the AI Gaming Loop”.
This recognition of academic excellence in Malta allows students to engage directly with the gaming and tech sectors on a global platform, which is not only rewarding but also expresses SiGMA’s desire to foster partnerships between academia and industry, and to recognise the skill, creativity and expertise of Maltese talent on a global platform.
Maltese leadership on the global stage
Alongside the student-focused initiatives, SiGMA’s Rome Summit will also welcome a strong Maltese delegation of leaders and policymakers. Among those attending are Prof. Alexiei Dingli, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Malta; Hon. Silvio Schembri, Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects; Hon. Alex Borg, Leader of the Opposition; Ivan Filletti, CEO of GamingMalta; and Kenneth Brincat, CEO of the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA).
Their participation underscores Malta’s continued influence in shaping international dialogue on technology, gaming, and digital regulation. It also reflects SiGMA’s commitment to empowering Maltese professionals and innovators, positioning them as key contributors to Europe’s evolving digital and gaming landscapes.
By bridging academia, government, and industry, SiGMA continues to strengthen Malta’s role as a global hub of expertise and innovation, ensuring the island’s thought leaders remain central to shaping the future of responsible gaming and technological advancement.
Shaping Malta on the international stage
As SiGMA expands its global portfolio across Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, it continues to have a strong link back to Malta. Each summit not only strengthens Malta’s reputation as a global gaming hub but also amplifies the island’s expertise and influence across new markets.
The Rome summit will host a distinguished mix of operators, affiliates, suppliers, regulators, and innovators. With over 500 speakers, the event offers an abundance of collaboration and growth opportunities that Maltese companies are uniquely suited to take advantage of.
From professional events to recognition in academia, SiGMA’s initiatives always represent a common body of work: to elevate the brand of Malta, its people and businesses, collectively, on the world stage.
