Calls For Charmaine Gauci To Resume Daily Press Briefings As COVID-19 Cases Continue To Surge
People are calling for Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci to resume her daily press briefings in light of a surge in COVID-19 cases.
One such call comes from HIV activist Mark Josef Rapa who believes that Gauci’s press briefings will help “get this mess over and done with”.
Others have taken to the comment section on Gauci’s personal Facebook page, some to criticise the reliability of health authorities in dispersing information and others asking her to address a press briefing to answer public questions.
Gauci ended her iconic daily COVID-19 press briefings on June 3rd as Malta’s cases dropped to below 51.
As it stands, Malta has a total of 112 active COVID-19 cases, 66 of which are migrants who were brought into the country by armed forces last night.
